‘What’s Happening for You’ Coffee Morning Event for Older People

A ‘What’s Happening for You’ coffee morning talk for older people is taking place at Tilehurst Library on Thursday 25th February.

The event is being organised by the council, supported by AgeUK Berkshire, Fir-Tree Retirement Club, Walking for Health and Engage Befriending.

An informative talk starts at 10.30am and aims to let older people in the Tilehurst area know about the range of things available for them, covering topics such as fitness, well-being, social events and hobbies.

There will also be an opportunity for people to share their ideas and give feedback on what they would like to see more of for older people.

Tilehurst Library, in School Road has a regular coffee morning on the last Thursday of every month.

Reading’s Lead Councillor for Adult Social Care, Rachel Eden, said:

“Why not come along and enjoy a coffee and a chat, whilst finding out about what is available in the Tilehurst area – there are many great activities on offer.

“The talk at Tilehurst Library is one of a varied programme of events run by Reading Council that aim to help older residents live fulfilling and active lives.”
