Heritage Open Day: Come and see behind the behind the scenes at a busy Crown Court centre and learn more about the criminal justice system. Activities are suitable for both adults and children, with some activities geared towards children. Activities include: – Sit as a juror in a mock trial with real judges and barristers and decide the verdict – Understand how a judge decides on a sentence as a judge goes through and explains a mock sentencing exercise – Tour the court cells. – Listen to talks from various criminal justice professionals on their area of work – See inside a courtroom and find out more about the court from court staff – The police, various other criminal justice agencies and legal firms will have stalls where you can find out more about them and the work they do – School art competition
