Clayfield Copse is a popular site for family walkers. It has woodlands, a playing field, regenerating woodland and scrub as well as a meadow, which was planted up a few years ago by Reading Borough Council Our conservation volunteer group Friends of Clayfield Copse, [a member of Econetreading, www.econetreading.org.uk] have worked here monthly for nearly 20 years now, managing the woods and fields for wildlife and the general public.

They have been several events for the local community during that time including bluebell, bat, tree and dawn chorus walks, a woodlands day, and an oaktree day. Our main aim of Meadow Day is to raise awareness of the flora and fauna on the site. We will have BBOWT and Reading Natural History members and many others to share their knowledge, explore and walk with you around the copse.

Nature Nurture will be here to entertain children with environmentally friendly activities. Readifolk will provide music under the oak tree. Later in the evening there will be a bat walk. Please bring a picnic and we hope you will enjoy the day.
