Harrison Family Vets Opens In Woodley
A new and independent veterinary group that is planning to open in 75 towns and cities by the end of the decade, has launched its very first practice in Woodley, Reading, in a £350,000 investment that has initially created eight jobs.
Harrison Family Vets will push the boundaries of pet care, customer service and employee wellbeing, and the new state of the art practice, at The Point on Shepherds Hill, is headed up by Clinic Director Ana Bonache, who has spent the last 17 years at Pet Doctors in Woking.
The practice is entirely designed around the pets it will be treating and features an array of ground-breaking initiatives. In addition to offering an on-site laboratory, full x-ray suite, operating theatre and ultrasonography, the practice has separate dog and cat wards that have been carefully designed with mood lighting, aromas and music to create a calming atmosphere.
There’s also a unique waiting area featuring bespoke pods, which give clients their own space and offer pets privacy, thus shielding them from the stresses of facing other pets in a traditional waiting room. Each pod has its own tablet where clients can update their details and even order fresh, healthy dog food from Butternut Box.
The practice is currently offering a £10 vaccination promotion which includes a full health check at the time of the vaccination, as well as a six month follow up health check. Even if a pet isn’t due their vaccination yet, new clients can register now, and the £10 offer will be honoured when the vaccination is due.
Tim Harrison, MD of Harrison Family Vets
Harrison Family Vets has been launched by managing director, Tim Harrison and operations director, Kristie Faulkner. Tim and Kristie are determined to provide a client and pet experience that is second to none.
Tim explained: “The whole ethos at Harrison Family Vets is about fostering a culture within our team that sets us apart anddifferentiates our practice from others. Every individual’s strengths and personality traits contribute to what we do, in a family orientated environment. Only pet owners can join our team because you can’t fully understand our culture unless a pet is an integral member of your family, which crucially makes us all pet lovers first and foremost.
“We’ve also worked hard to create a customer experience that’s more akin to an Apple store, than a traditional veterinary practice. We don’t have a reception desk and instead, our front of house team have the autonomy to freely interact with our clients and their pets.
“Launching our first practice in Woodley is a very exciting opportunity and we’re already receiving fantastic feedback from the local community. There are very few practices of this standard in the UK and there’s no doubt that our innovations will translate into the quality of care that our clients and their pets receive, as well as setting a benchmark as we expand across the country.
“We’re now really looking forward to meeting and welcoming lots of local pets and their owners over the coming months, as we strive to make Harrison Family Vets the most forward-looking and caring practice, as well as the employer of choice for vets and nurses, in the UK.”
