There is a Raffle, teas & Plant sale also, and at the end of the Show the exhibits that have not been claimed by their owners will be sold. Open to the public for viewing from 2pm, entry free

Thames Valley Police Force Open day

The event, now in its sixth year, is held in the grounds of the Thames Valley Police Training Centre in Sulhamstead, near Reading and last year attracted a record breaking four thousand visitors. It helps to promote greater understanding of the many departments and specialist roles that make up Thames Valley Police, and this year will be bigger than ever, with a wider range of exhibits to see and activities to take part in. There will be displays from the dog section, Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs, a display by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Extrication Team and a chance to see the Force helicopter, manned by Chiltern Air Support Unit. Visitors can also meet officers and horses from the Mounted Section and the Roads Policing Department. The Thames Valley Police Force Open Day runs from 10 am until 4pm. Parking at the site is limited and will be available on a first come first served basis. No dogs are allowed on site except for guide dogs. There is a £2.50 charge for adults, while children under 16 go free.

Reading Symphony Orchestra return to the Great Hall of Reading University to open their 2011/12 season. Joining the orchestra is critically acclaimed pianist Ashley Wass, who is forging a strong reputation as an international soloist. Last seen performing with RSO 2 years ago, Ashley will be performing Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto. The programme will also include Brahms' lyrical 2nd Symphony, and Beethoven's Egmont overture.
