Eat Reading 2017
Reading restaurants, cafes and street food traders turn out for Eat Reading 2017
Reading town centre’s annual celebration of the best of Reading food, Eat Reading, is taking shape with Reading’s restaurants and independent food traders signing up to demonstrate their culinary talents on Broad Street in June.
On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June, many of Reading’s finest restaurants, along with a world of street food traders, will be setting up food stalls along the length of Broad Street.
Visitors to Eat Reading will be able to sample mouth-watering cuisine from around the world thanks to many of Reading’s restaurants, including spicy Indian cuisine from the Royal Tandoori, exotic Ethiopian cuisine from Tutu’s Kitchen, the finest Argentine dishes from CAU, French cuisine courtesy of Cote Brasserie, Mexican meals from Mission Burritos, as well as high quality cuisine from two of Reading’s finest hotel restaurants at Malmaison and Novotel. Two of Reading’s finest coffee providers, Workhouse Coffee and Manhattan Coffee Club, will also be on the street to keep caffeine levels topped up.
Reading restaurants will be joined by 40 independent street food traders serving food from around the world. Many of Reading’s popular CHOW Friday street food market traders will be at Eat Reading for the weekend so festival goers will be able to choose from Mexican, Japanese, Caribbean, Eastern European, Thai, American and many more.
A giant 20 metre-long dining table will be the place to enjoy your food and make some new friends in the centre of Broad Street. There will be live music from RASPO steel band and Jack Cade as well as face painting. Eat Reading will be followed two weeks later by the third Reading Chilli Festival on 17 June.
Eat Reading 2017 is the brainchild of Reading UK CIC and is managed by Southern Market Traders, who operate the successful CHOW street food market in Reading every Friday.
